SYSTEM LOGISTICS CONQUERS THE TRUST OF SHUFERSAL, THE LARGEST RETAIL COMPANY OPERATING IN ISRAEL

Following the strategic growth plan implemented by Shufersal in the last decade, the company decided to establish a new distribution center in Shoham, not far from Tel Aviv, where to handle all the temperature controlled activities.

Including the fresh meat and fish, deli, produce, chocolate, nuts and frozen products, the scope of this new project was to supply the company's stores nationwide deployed in city centers and periphery improving the efficiency of its independent logistic network.

Shufersal selected the most effective solution in order to balance operation targets and costs, so the project combining automated technologies with manual areas got the green light: Shufersal commissioned System Logistics to provide the technologies for the two major automated activities of  the new logistic center:

- High-Bay Warehouse storage, Pick-to-Belt and Sorter of Frozen products

- High-Bay Warehouse storage and automated crate picking refilling system of Produce

The Warehouse, which is now on construction, will reach a maximum height of 34 metres, will be served by 4 stacker cranes, with a total storage capacity of 6.720 pallets in single and double depth, .

The troughput for the frozen products HBWH will be 65 pallet/h in, 2,500 cases/h out, which deliver 210 stores/day, and the troughput for the Produce HBWH will be 64 pallet/h in, 64 pallet/h out.

This new project confirms the interest of System Logistics towards Middle East area, which presents day after day new interesting opportunities of business expansion.
