Modula Lift passed the TÜV Rheinland test to obtain the GS mark with flying colours. The new product developed by the System Logistics division of the same name has obtained this important recognition as testimony to the efforts that have gone into designing it. The GS mark (Guaranteed Safety) is issued following a voluntary application for certification andguarantees the end user that the product bearing the GS mark has been tested by an independent third party that does not have any relationship with the manufacturer. This recognition underlines and rewards Modula’s commitment to pursuing safety without compromise, to obtain the customer’s trust and thus strengthen the brand.

A leading Swedish company has placed a new order with System Logistics for the design and installation of a system worth over €30m. Spendrups Bryggeri AB is one of the oldest breweries in Sweden and is owned by the Spendrup family, which has been running it since 1897. With over 1000 employees, the company is the largest beverage producer and distributor in Sweden for the market leading brands of beer, soft drinks, fruit juices, wines, spirits and coffee. Spendrups’ success is built upon a history of innovation and tradition, a vision shared by System Group.

This major project involves the construction of a system capable of concentrating finished product storage and optimizing distribution at the Spendrups Brewery in Grängesberg, one of the group’s four breweries. The system will consist of 12 stacker cranes to accommodate approximately 47,000 pallet slots. The Spendrups project follows other major jobs obtained during 2009 and 2010 in the same sector and the same area. Support from the local branch — System Northern Europe with an office in Malmö — was of essential importance. This confirms that System Group’s strategy, aimed at establishing branches in foreign markets so as to provide before- and after-sales services locally to its customers, is a winning choice.

Spendrups’ decision to select System Logistics as their supplier is a testament to the excellent results the Italian company, based in Fiorano Modenese, has achieved in recent years in the food and beverage sector. The development of technologies dedicated to the beverage sector, together with the technical design expertise that has always been the feather in System Logistics’ cap, led to the creation of a partnership and a relationship based upon mutual trust between the two companies.

About Spendrups:

Spendrups is a beverage company with 1100 dedicated employees and with total sales of SEK 3bn in 2009. It is a family company, founded in 1897. The Spendrup family with Jens Spendrup as CEO and Ulf Spendrup as vice CEO among others, is today very active in the company. Spendrups unites strong traditions with innovations. Today, the fourth generation of the Spendrup family works at the company, and many employees have worked with the company for decades. Spendrups delivers beverages to suit all occasions: beer, cider, soft drinks, juice, water, wine, spirits and coffee. The company owns a collection of strong brands, such as Spendrups, Norrlands Guld, Mariestads, Heineken, Loka, Schweppes, Pago, El Coto, Gallo and Bergstrands Coffee.
