A NEW SUCCESS IN THE BOTTLING INDUSTRY: THE AUTOMATIC WAREHOUSE FOR THE COMPANY GAI HAS BEEN FINALLY TESTED
Renewed partnership between the two companies
The successful collaboration between System Logistics and the Company GAI of Ceresole d’Alba (CN), a three-generation manufacturer of bottling machines famous worldwide, has been renewed with the testing of the fully automated logistics centre built for the new plant expansion.
The system is composed of an automatic inter-operation storage system that serves the different manufacturing and assembly areas, and has been conceived to house both components and pre-assembled units.
The warehouse is single-depth, self-supporting, and is 25 metre high. It consists of 3 stacker cranes with telescopic forks, 6 SVL shuttles with buffer seats for fast moving items, 4 goods-to-man picking bays, 2 AGV trolleys connecting the various departments, for a total of 11,160 loading units. The whole system is managed by Systore WMS Software.
12 Modula ® new vertical automated warehouses complete the expansion project implemented at the logistics centre.
Among the system features that characterise System Logistics' unique solutions, it is worth mentioning the loading units using SVL (System Vehicle Loops) shuttles.
This solution consists of a set of vehicles with independent motor drives that circulate on a loop path carrying the loading units from the stacker cranes' bays to the picking/shipping bays and viceversa, thus meeting all the most demanding handling requirements at the head of the automatic warehouse.
