WORK IN PROGRESS FOR ILIP

WORK IN PROGRESS FOR ILIP

System Logistics has resumed work inside the Ilip plant in Valsamoggia (BO). Ilip is part of the ILPA Group, a holding company that controls companies specialised in the processing and recycling of plastics. Since 1962, Ilip has been a European leader in the provision of packaging solutions in plastic and bioplastic raw materials for the fresh produce and food industry, and for the world of mass retail and catering.

In this phase, System Logistics will be installing stacker cranes inside the new automated storage, handling and picking plant.

Following an expansion in production, Ilip decided to make a major investment in intralogistics, a particularly important and complex project covering an area of over 50,000 m2.

System Logistics’ proposal has proven successful: the self-supporting automated warehouse, 150 metres long and 90 metres wide, will be served by 12 double-depth stacker cranes and will reach a height of 35 metres, 5 metres of which are underground. Sixty-two thousand loading units will be stored inside it.

The header area will be arranged on 2 levels: picking operations will be carried out on the first floor, with 4 manual bays and an automated layer-picking system, while the ground floor will be used for shipping and the reception of goods from outside.

A 350-metre aerial connection tunnel will connect the production facilities, arranged on various sites, with the warehouse.
