David Tena - Head of Market Operations

David, how old are you and where are you from?

My name is David Tena, I’m 41 years old and was born in Spain. After finishing my studies of Engineering and Logistics I lived and worked internationally and finally came to Germany in 2008.

How long have you been working at System Logistics in Wackersdorf and what did you do before that?

In 2008 I joined Krones as a sales director for intralogistics solutions. I am responsible for market operations at System Logistics GmbH in Wackersdorf since 2019.

What are your tasks as Head of Market Operations?

As Head of Market Operations I aim to position System Logistics GmbH as a leading intralogistics solutions company in the food & beverage industry. Together with a team of engineers, marketers and sales experts we identify market trends and needs and create valuable solutions for our customers.

What are your biggest challenges as Head of Market Operations?

Companies vary a lot in terms of size, location, working culture and complexity of operation. Standards are not possible. Every customer is unique – every valuable solution is unique. That’s our everyday challenge.

Intralogistics sounds pretty boring at first glance. What do you like about it?

Intralogistics is for me the most dynamic and challenging process in any production based company. From raw materials to happy customers consuming food or drinks in a pub, restaurant or at home with good friends there are many things to consider in the supply chain.

David, what do you like best about your job at System Logistics?

That it is a very dynamic company with a well established „go to market spirit“ and a great balance between very experienced and young people. What I also really appreciate is that everyone here feels personally responsible for the success and contributes to it with the greatest commitment.

In which System Logistics branch would you like to work for 3 months and why?

Anywhere in Middle America because I have had great personal and professional experiences there.

What are your favourite hobbies?

I love spending time in nature.
