The new high-bay warehouse of Störtebeker Braumanufaktur went into operation on May 1, 2020. At its headquarters in the Hanseatic city of Stralsund, the company invested in a modern, digitized value chain. A fully automated high-bay warehouse with 29,375 storage spaces was built there.
Beers from Stralsund were already exported to Denmark, Norway and England during the Hanseatic period and helped the Hanseatic city of Stralsund to prosperity.
In 2010 there was a phase of realignment of the brewery. Today Störtebeker does what they do best: they brew a wide variety of beers in top quality according to the Hanseatic brewing tradition. The brewery was consequently renamed Störtebeker Braumanufaktur in 2011. At the same time, various offers were developed to allow customers to rediscover beer. For example tastings, sommelier evenings, and much more. The products have won several international awards from the German Agricultural Society, the World Beer Award, the World Beer Cup, the European Beer Star and the Craft Beer Award. Employees of the brewery have also participated in the World Beer Sommelier Championship several times. Elisa Raus (press spokeswoman) was the first woman to win the coveted title in 2019. The brewing factory also operates catering facilities, among others in the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie. The brewing manufacturer has been able to significantly increase its sales in recent years, from 65,000 hectoliters in 2008 to 248,000 hectoliters in 2018.
Störtebeker Braumanufaktur decided to invest in a modern, digitized value chain. The project essentially consists of a fully automated high-bay warehouse and a complete, fully integrated IT system landscape. The entire SitePilot IT system landscape was integrated into an existing SAP solution. Due to the large number of different containers and crates, the empties are also temporarily stored in the high-bay warehouse and sent to production.

The holistic concept enables:
- Highest possible flexibility with reasonable automation of the logistics processes

- Ensuring the ability to deliver via an optimized logistics concept with the simultaneous inclusion of e.g. Picking, display construction and empties handling
- Digitization of logistics and production processes taking into account investments already made in the IT landscape, here e.g. SAP
- Integration and automation of production supply and disposal
By integrating production, logistics and IT, Störtebeker Braumanufaktur receives a state-of-the-art, digitized value chain. The entire intralogistics was designed and implemented by System Logistics GmbH as a general contractor.
