TESTING OF THE PASTIFICIO FELICETTI AUTOMATED WAREHOUSE

The history of Pastificio Felicetti dates back to 1908, and its values now are the same as they were back then: it is open to new challenges without ever losing sight of the company's guiding principle, and the quality of its products. Due to the growth of the company and the increasing need for storage, Pastificio Felicetti selected System Logistics as its partner of choice for the development of its new automated warehouse for the intensive storage of finished products. The site is located in Predazzo (Trento) in the heart of the Dolomites, next to its factory producing packaged pasta and the despatch area from which products are shipped all over the world.

System Logistics, the general contractor for the work, provided the automation, the WMS with Systore system, shelving, cladding, and the fire sprinkler system. The SVL system connects the different areas, not least the picking area, equipped with two double bays.

The self-supporting double-depth warehouse with staggered shelving is equipped with 4 stacker cranes with telescopic forks. The overall capacity is 5,776 loading units, handled on 800mm x 1200mm and 1000mm x 1200mm pallets with a maximum load capacity of 1,060 kg. The automated handling system comprises 5 SVLs, and the picking area has one "goods to man" bay.

The partial construction of 6.6 metres below ground level was one of the aspects requested by Pastificio Felicetti in the design phase to minimize the environmental impact. Pastificio Felicetti joins the list of System Logistics' many Italian clients in the food industry, including Forno D’Asolo, Cafa, Perfetti Van Melle, Crastan, Fruchthof, Inalca and Veroni.
