Shufersal, one of the largest retail companies in Israel has chosen System Logistics to provide the automation of its new temperature controlled distribution center in Shoham, near Tel Aviv.
Resulting from the successful implementation of the strategic growth plan during the last decade, Shufersal now operates close to 500 stores, employs more than 12,000 employees, and stocks more than 1,300 store brand products. Shufersal partnered with System Logistics to solve their intra-logistics requirements for their new temperature controlled distribution center.
The new distribution center aims to improve the efficiency of Shufersal`s independent logistic network in order to supply the company's retail locations nationwide. The new facility will handle all the temperature controlled activities, which includes fresh meat, seafood, deli, produce, chocolate, nuts and frozen products.
Thanks to System Logistics, Shufersal is able to implement the most effective solution in order to balance operation targets and costs, combining automated technologies with manual areas. System Logistics project provides state of art technologies for the two major automated activities of the new logistic center:
- High-Bay Warehouse storage, Pick-to-Belt and Sorter of Frozen products
- High-Bay Warehouse storage and automated crate picking refilling system of Produce
